Registration Application

The nature of this writing workshop requires that students are able to read and spell with some proficiency (assistive tech is welcome). We also recommend that students are Grade 4 and over.  Therefore we ask you to complete this initial section of the application prior to registering your child to ensure that our writing workshop will be a good fit for your child this fall. 

Information for existing Open Door Families receiving private tutoring: If your child is receiving tutoring from The Open Door in reading and spelling, this means that they should be at or above Level 4, lesson 9 in their programming.  If you are not certain which level your child is in, you can ask your tutor or use the this initial application form to have us verify the Level and lesson number for you.  Note, if you child is close to, but not quite at the halfway point of Level 4, exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.

 

Please email office@theopendoor.ca for more information if you think your child is ready for our writing workshop despite not meeting the grade or level recommendations.

Deposit Payment

To complete your registration and reserve a spot in our workshop, we must receive your deposit.

Deposit Amount: $135.00

Payment Methods:

  • E-Transfer: Payments via e-transfer can me made to info@theopendoor.ca. Please include in the notes to the payment the student name and the word “Workshop”

    This is our preferred method of payment.

  • Cheque: Payments by cheque can be mailed to 215 Cayman Road, Stittsville, ON  K2S 0N9. Please mail the cheque in time to arrive prior to the payment due date. Please include in the notes to the payment the student name and the word “Workshop”. You may also include post-dated cheques for the various  payment installations.
  • Paypal: You may also request a PayPal invoice to pay via Credit Card. There is a 2.9% fee for the handling cost of a PayPal invoice. Please email office@theopendoor.ca to request your PayPal invoice.
